FAQ
Questions we get asked.
How big can a single file be?
Up to 5 TB per object. Large files go up in parts with multipart upload, which most S3 tools handle for you.
Will it work with our media asset management tool?
If your MAM or editing workflow can use S3-compatible storage, you can add Stornox as a storage location. Check your tool's documentation and try it on a trial bucket.
Should we replace LTO tape with cloud storage?
Some teams do; others keep tape as an extra offline copy. Object storage keeps the archive online and searchable. The right mix depends on how often you go back to old footage, how long you keep it, and your budget.
