PACS cloud storage
that stays in India.
Every new scanner adds terabytes a year, and the studies have to be kept for a long time. Move older studies to an archive hosted in India and let your local PACS storage focus on today's reading list.

The problem
Imaging data only grows.
Bigger studies every year
Thinner slices, more modalities and more scanners. Each upgrade makes the archive larger.
Long retention
Studies are kept for years for clinical comparison and medico-legal reasons.
Sensitive data
Patient images are health data. Hospitals need strong controls and a clear answer on where they are stored.
How it fits
A two-tier imaging archive.
- 01
Recent studies stay local
The PACS keeps the last few months on fast storage for everyday reading.
- 02
Older studies go to Stornox
Your PACS, VNA or an archive gateway moves them to an S3-compatible bucket.
- 03
The archive is protected
Encryption, per-system keys and Object Lock retention on archived studies.
- 04
Priors come back on request
When a radiologist needs an old study for comparison, it is fetched from the archive.
Why Stornox
Made for data that is sensitive and long-lived.

FAQ
Questions we get asked.
Can PACS images be stored in the cloud?
Yes. Many PACS, VNA and archiving products can use S3-compatible object storage as a long-term tier. Recent studies stay on fast local storage for reading and older studies move to the archive. Check your PACS vendor's documentation for S3 support.
Is DICOM data safe on Stornox?
Traffic is encrypted with TLS, stored data is encrypted with AES-256, each system gets its own access keys, and Object Lock can keep archived studies unchanged for a set period. Access rules inside your PACS remain your hospital's responsibility.
Where is the imaging data kept?
On Stornox infrastructure located in India, which helps hospitals and diagnostic chains keep patient data in the country.
How long do imaging studies have to be kept?
It depends on applicable regulations, the patient (records of minors are often kept longer) and your institution's policy. Agree the periods with your medico-legal team and enforce them with retention rules.
How much space will our studies take?
It varies a lot by modality. A CT or MRI study can run to hundreds of megabytes, and mammography or digital pathology can be far larger. Share your monthly study counts and we will size the archive with you.
